I have been a big fan of juicing for 8+ years now. I love how easy it makes me get in my nutrients through out the week! However, it does take up quite a bit of time for juicing, so make sure you have an hour+ of time from start to finish. Click here for the juicer that I have. I love my juicer, and have had it for about 4 years, and I’ve been very satisfied with it. If that is too pricey, click here for a cheaper one that has good reviews. The reason I got the one I purchased was 1. It was on sale at Costco, and 2. I wanted something reliable and big enough so I didn’t have to empty out the peelings every fruit/veggie.
So basically what I do when I juice, I use my Juicer and my Blendtec. I always start with the juicer and juice my fruits and veggies. Here is a list of fruits & veggies I juice:
Fruits:
- Apples
- Guava
- Oranges
- Grapefruit
- Limes
- Lemons
- Pineapple
Veggies:
- Celery
- Carrots
- Cucumber
I also LOVE juicing ginger! Ginger is my favorite because it give the juice a little bit of a kick, and it also is SO good for your stomach!
After I have juiced all of my fruits and veggies, I add the juice to the Blendtec and add a few handfuls of Spinach and Kale and blend it up! I always make enough to last me the entire week so I only have to juice once a week. I use Mason Jars to store the juice in so I can shake it up before pouring a glass.
I know juicing can be tricky because you don’t know how much of what you should add into the juicer. So below, I have a few recipes that you can use to make it easier for you and your juicing!
Citrus Juice Recipe:
- 5 Grapefruits (peeled)
- 3-4 Oranges (peeled)
- 2 Lemons (peeled)
- 3-4 tbsp Ginger (depending on how spicy you like your juice)
Directions: Juice all of the ingredients and blend together for full mixture. (I will also sometimes add a handful of spinach and juice some carrots if I want veggies in it). Store in Mason Jar.
All the Fruits and Veggies Recipe:
- 1 Stalk Celery
- 1 Bag Carrots
- 2 Cucumbers
- 3 Apples
- 3 Oranges
- 1 Lemon
- 1 Lime
- 4 Guavas
- 4 tbsp Ginger
- 3 C. Spinach
- 3 C. Kale
Directions: Juice all of the ingredients (except for spinach and kale). After juicing, add some of the juice into Blendtec along with Spinach and Kale. Blend until all the juice is mixed well together. Store in Mason Jar*.
*note: this recipe will make enough juice to last the week, so it will take a big quart Mason Jar to store, or a pitcher.
Hope you enjoy juicing! It’s seriously so nice to have it stored in my fridge all the time so I can get those fruits and veggies in each day! Below are a few pics of the last time I juice to give you a feel of how I prep.
Enjoy!
